Ultimately, the firemen don't believe him when he says that the burn on his hand is from the doorknob, but the ambulance bandages him up anyway. They manage to stop the blaze before the entire building catches, but his laptop and most of his possessions are gone- and Martin will smell vaguely like smoke when he finally, fumbling, pushes the door to Jon's flat open.
